Is Gambling actually Up to Luck or Chance?

Most people think that success in gambling is precisely due to risk, or as some people prefer to regard it, “lady luck.”. Many gamblers like to think that if they succeed it is because they’ve been touched by Lady Luck. Although that also suggests that they will have a winning streak as long as Lady Luck is on their side.
However that sort of thinking is a kind of dangerous weapon. If it were correct that Lady Luck was responsible for gambling success, therefore it diminishes any thought the player has success due to his ability as a gambler. Madam Luck takes everything out of the hands of the gambler and leaves it fully up to destiny. But if this is true then why is it that some winners are not really regular in their wins? How can they win one day and lose the next?
Statisticians will argue that the reality of the situation is better explained mathematically rather than by fate, or Lady LuckThey can quite logically explain the chances and probabilities of someone winning at any given time.
In fact many people who are critical of gambling have a tendency to classify games like blackjack and roulette as being members of the gaming business instead of the gambling industry. By offering this variation, they can then say that those games are based more on mathematical stats instead of any kind of chance.
There’s a problem if you subscribe to the belief that it’s all Lady Luck. Not only does that suggest some kind of primitive way of having a look at something, but it also suggests that regardless of what the player does, his winning or losing relies on some aspect over which he doesn’t have any control. If luck is with him he will win, if it is not, he’ll lose. It can , weaken his ability to play intelligently.
Believing in the luck theory can even send some people into doing weird and surprising things. In other words, they may possibly go to extremes to do specific things to “ward off evil spirits” that will interfere with Lady Luck. It can even go as far as to effect the colour of clothes that they wear when they play.
One thing to bear in mind, statisticians claim that it is virtually impossible to get a royal flush. In fact, they are saying the possibilities of getting one are one in 649,739. This illustrates more than anything that the general public will lose more than they will win. And that’s the whole basis of gambling… Losing.
So, keep that in mind. Losing is normal in gambling and winning the exception. As long as you go into gambling with this concept in mind you will not have unrealistic expectations. But to think that Lady Luck is on your side and you will come out a massive winner, will only lead to disheartening results. The casino owner is the only one that constantly wins at gambling. That IS a guarantee.
